Welcome!

Well, hello there! If you've found this page, you must be the parent or loved one of a future first grader in Mrs. Whitten's class. I am so thrilled you're here, and I am even more thrilled to meet your children (and my future firsties) in just a couple weeks! That's right; Meet the Teacher is just two weeks from today, and I have so many butterflies in my stomach and so much love in my heart just thinking about the journey we're all about to embark on together!

I plan on using this blog as a space to introduce myself, share upcoming important events, and give families a peek into their child's classroom. While I hope you're able to physically peek in our room throughout the year, whether that be through volunteering, field trips, or other special events, I understand that isn't feasible for all families. One of my passions is writing, and I can't think of a better way to keep all loved ones in the loop than by starting a class blog, updated weekly.

We'll also be using paper communication, but it's much easier to share pictures of the children in action on a website! Because including pictures on an open blog may make some feel uneasy, we will discuss the site's future privacy settings at Meet the Teacher.

Until then, please soak up the last couple weeks of summer playing, reading, and just enjoying time with your little ones! I truly cannot wait to meet you!
